Mr. Upmanyu Patil is responsible for translating project design into implementation, training, promotion, monitoring daily operations, impact assessment, financial controls and reporting.He has been working with SSP since 1994 and presently is CEO of Sakhi Unique Rural Enterprise Pvt Limited (SURE). He is responsible for organization’s strategic planning, operations, corporate partnerships, training and business development. Since 2005, he steadily shifted to setting-up largescale opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and incomes to women in clean energy sector. He pioneered partnership with BP energy on SSP’s behalf and utilizing this co-creation opportunity, went to rural women’s-groups to understand their needs in household energy sector led to development of biofuel stove. SURE reached in over 650 villages, 70000 households and 1000+ Sakhis in six districts in Maharashtra. Sakhi Retail has partnership agreements on distribution, marketing and training services with Godrej, First Energy, D-Lite, Selco, Eureka Forbes, etc. He is Program Director of  wPOWER program awarded by USAID/India for SSP for 1 million $ and is committed to create and empower over 1000 women-entrepreneurs until 2015, to launch small businesses around innovative clean technologies across eight districts in Maharashtra and Bihar. He is a highly committed, innovative socio-technical development professional with engineering and management.
