Chandra Shekhar Ghosh founded Bandhan, an innovative pro-poor system of providing loans to individuals with limited access to mainstream financial services. By doing so, he is strengthening the physical, social and human base of destitute populations to benefit from mainstream development program, once they have completed their initial asset-building phase.
